The long-anticipated Ghostbusters game has a new video and boy does it aim to impress. The characters are lovingly rendered with a fun caricatured style that clearly represent their actor’s counterparts. Granted, I wouldn’t want to wait 20 years every time they made a video game based off a movie property, but this is the quality that can be achieved when studios aren’t forced to coincide their game launch along side the movie, official marshmallow cereal, lunchbox, bedspread, and action figure line with 24 points of articulation.

Since we first saw MK vs DCU here at PS3Pub, there has been a lot of press coverage about the title involving roster announcements, game features and so on. Newly released is this video with many of the recently announced characters in full combat showing moves we’ve never seen before.

If you’ve never heard of Bayonetta, she’s going to be make her debut in this very Devil May Cry action title. Seems like she takes Dante’s formula and cranks it to 11. Possibly even a 12 or 13. This is fitting because the creator of DMC and Viewtiful Joe is the mad scientist behind this chick. She uses her hair as weapons and/or clothes apparently, and adorns some hottie Baroness spectacles.

But it’s her hyper-style Matrix-fu aerial acrobatic laser kick insanity that draws you in. I think at some point she actually blows someone’s head off with her shotgun boot. She’s really out there - Unappologetically over the top and I can totally dig that.

But don’t just take my word for it. Check her out in the vid here!

With the PlayStation Network becoming more and more user friendly, players are becoming more involved in the online capabilities of the PS3. Some games even have a bluetooth package available to gain access to voice chat and some simply use their choice of headset for communication on PSN. Well Sony has finally released an image of their long overdue brand of bluetooth headset. This may finally give me an excuse to stop putting that particular purchase off.

Always been a huge Resident Evil fan and I repeatedly punish myself for still not having gone through Resident Evil 4. But if you haven’t caught one of the more recent trailers it pretty much has it all: bike chases, shotguns, long legs, a walking monster made completely of tentacles, and of course a metric asston of zombies!

Resident Evil 5 comes to us finally in current generation graphics and according to buzz on the internet, co-op playability, which is what this series has been needing for years, and will absolutely guarantee my purchase come first quarter ‘09.

Often times console systems don’t really begin to start showing their graphic potential until the middle or late into their life cycle. Heavy Rain is beginning to show that we have yet to see the true pixel-pushing power the Playstation 3 has yet to offer.

Well now that people are getting their long awaited fighting game fix in Soul Calibur 4, Namco isn’t quite done yet as they get set to release yet another premiere version of one of their flagship fighting game franchises. Tekken 6 is on the horizon and there are some Japanese gameplay videos courtesy of Tekken Zaibatsu. This year marks the year of the fighting game and the ultimate versions of them seem to be coming back with a vengeance in the next few months and Tekken is no exception.

Seeing these games finally reach HD with current-gen graphics and technology are surely a sight to behold.

BatBuzz is all over the Net and it seems appropriate that Midway announced this weekend at Comic-Con that the Joker will be a playable character in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe. Since fatalities have been announced, it will interesting to see how the Joker plans on getting the last laugh.

The confirmed characters in the game so far include:

Batman
Superman
Flash
Green Lantern
Captain Marvel
Joker
Catwoman

Scorpion
Sub Zero
Liu Kang
Sonya
Kitana
Jax
Shang Tsung

Here is a bonus pic of another Bat-character, Catwoman

Finally a Street Fighter game in the third dimension with dynamic camera angles and over-the-top action that the long standing series deserves. Capcom releases their E3 video for their true sequel to the franchise showcasing the fighters “focus moves” that are pretty much their super specials that seem to pause the screen, and zoom in for a facial expression before they release their fatal fury on their opponent.

As promised, we’ve got some more Soul Calibur goodness here. It’s been Vader this and Yoda that. As much as I love those guys they could really be stripped out of the game completely and it would not diminish my excitement for the title. A feature in SC3 that people seemed to gloss over was the custom create-a-fighter. Sure there were some limitations but I thought it delivered in terms of variety compared to other custom character systems in the past seen in game genres like basketball, wrestling etc.

I myself had a great time with it and could only see the possibilities in future installments of the franchise. Check out the end product of these custom characters in Soul Calibur IV! As random as this pirate girl is duking it out with some barbarian guy, I can’t imagine how deep the unlockable content will go. I anticipate hours of playtime unlocking the goodies that Namco has developed in create-a-fighter. Not to mention mastering the classic fighters’ upgrades, new official roster characters, Yoda, Vader and his apprentice.

I mean, how can you not love the ability to make a fighting cat girl with a feather duster? That has win all over it.
