By now, everyone has heard of the Playstation’s heating problems. Many complaints were received by Sony about constant console crashes, and they admit themselves that they don’t know the exact problem, other than general heating troubles. One thing is for sure, however: the Playstation 3 sealed case- designed to keep Sony’s secrets hidden- just turned your $599 console into a George Foreman grill.

One YouTube user recently made a stir in the community by uploading his own video of how he cooks steak: straight from the Playstation 3 case. As for feedback, surprisingly, no one bashed the Playstation 3 for being such a hot-head, but rather the fanboys of Sony praised the system for bringing closure to the old term, “But can it make toast?”. (Or in this case, something more manly; a nice, juicy, steak)The maker of this video has gone on to register a domain name, for the sole purpose of showcasing his grilling invention. In a recent issue of the Official Playstation Magazine, the maker of this fine grill demonstrates his invention. He has received enough publicity to invest in a great start for his grill-making business. So far, the PS3-Grill has been up for bid on Ebay.com twice, both removed for rule violations.

But how’d this start? When the Playstation 3 was originally being showcased, an image came out that made it out to resemble a grill. Photoshopped pictures of this PS3-Grill jokingly spilled out on the internet, and has since evolved into an idea. With advice from the X-S Forums, it became a reality as the PS3-Grill earned enough support to modify two $600 consoles into two separate grills, based solely on donations.

Don’t have the money to buy a PS3, with an attached grill? Save some money and do it yourself! Also on the PS3-Grill webpage, you will find tutorials on how to disassemble your Playstation 3, making it ready for a fresh grill assembly. However, this will void your warranty, so do so at your own risk.

Although recent activity on the PS3-Grill website has been non-existent, there are plans in the making for a bigger, better goal. And with good reason, it seems that the Japanese community is racing to make the better PS3 grill. Interestingly enough, they didn’t forget the barbecue sauce. Sauces are out on the Japanese market, featuring the Playstation 3 on the labels. If that wasn’t enough, a popular line of T-shirts has hit Japan featuring the Playstation 3 cooking abilities and condiments.

Don’t have a PS3? Don’t expect to get a grill anytime soon. Recent attempts at making a Wii or Xbox360 grill have either failed or were given up on. Sony fans now have one more thing to add to the list of reasons why the PS3 is the ultimate console: it can cook a mean steak.[While making your own PS3 Grill sounds fun, we recommend you don't try this one. The actual time put into making these is substantial, and it will render your PS3 useless. Stick to the king of grills - George Foreman.]Links:
